When it comes to destination weddings, few places capture the magic of romance and celebration quite like the Bahamas. Surrounded by turquoise waters, pink sands, and breathtaking sunsets, it’s the perfect backdrop for a wedding that blends timeless elegance with bold, joyful color. I had the honor of styling one of my brides for her colorful high-end celebration in this island paradise—and it was nothing short of magical.

A Bride Who Embraced Color and Confidence
Our bride wanted her wedding to radiate joy and sophistication. She chose a palette of vibrant hues that reflected the tropical setting and matched the energy of Harbor Island, Bahamas. From her bridesmaids’ gowns in shades of coral, fuchsia, and orange to the florals bursting with color, every detail was thoughtfully chosen. Her Ines De Santo gown was the perfect addition to her bridesmaids. Marva Munroe from @chicbahamasweddings planned everything to the last detail including her gorgeous florals.

A Family Tradition
It was so much fun getting to know the everyone! My bride was the sweetest person - laid back and relaxed, which set the vibe for everyone else. They decided to get married on Harbor Island because their families have been going there for years and often vacationed at The Dunmore Beach Resort. It's a charming, beachfront hideaway with quaint cottages and breath taking ocean views directly on the pink sands of Harbor Island.

The sweetest part was that their pup traveled all the way to the Bahamas with them to be a part of such a special moment in their lives.

Guests gathered at an altar by RAH Designs framed with palm leaves and monstera leaves. Additional palms were nestled in the sand along the aisle, while guests sat facing the ocean on bamboo chairs. Adding a personal touch, Cole’s sister officiated the ceremony, a highlight for the couple.
The Island

The Dunmore Beach Resort sits directly on the pink sand beaches of Harbor Island. Most people fly into Eleuthra, Bahamas and take the quick 5 minute local ferry over to Harbor Island.
Once you pull up to the dock you'll hear the sound of locals laughing and the town buzzing with daily activities. Fishing boats arrive with their daily catch while golf carts (the islands main mode of transportation) hum through the streets. You're instantly on vacation mode, taking in the breath taking turquoise waters and colorful shops and buildings. As you make your way up the hill to the Dunmore, brightly colored flowers line the streets while hidden boutiques and restaurants are around every corner.
The Wedding Venue
The Dunmore itself has a long winding driveway that opens up to a grand courtyard at this coastal chic retreat. It's decor is Coastal chic with all the amenities you can imagine. Calm and contemporary, these boutique oceanfront accommodations are stylishly decorated in shades of blue and sand, accented by warm textures. Their seafoam and white striped beach house sits picture perfect on the pink sand beach. With black and white striped umbrellas, private pools and lush pathways through the resort, you'll instantly feel relaxed and ready for anything.

As her bridal hairstylist, my goal was to design a look that complemented her vision—timeless yet modern, polished yet fun. We chose an updo to keep her hair looking good the entire day & night, providing the perfect frame for something extra special: My custom hand-crafted hair vine designed just for her.
It's a piece she'll have forever to pass down.

Her hair was pulled into a polished yet loose updo with pieces left out to frame her face. Her makeup was done by Nathy for Phairis Luxury Team and was fresh with touch of glam. Both Nathy and I stayed onsite with our bride and the entire bridal party to offer touchups, veil placement and anything else they needed. They all looked polished and perfect the entire day!
The Art of a Custom Bridal Adornment

I believe that accessories should do more than complete a look—they should tell a story. For this bride, I created a delicate yet striking colorful hair vine that intertwined shades pulled directly from her wedding palette. Tiny beads, crystals, and soft sparkling touches caught the Bahamian sunlight beautifully, tying together not only her hairstyle but also the gowns of her bridesmaids and the vibrancy of the entire wedding aesthetic.
The hair vine became more than just an accessory; it was a piece of wearable art that connected her bridal look to the celebration around her. Every time she turned her head or stepped into the light, it shimmered with color
and meaning.

The Final Look
Things to take into consideration when choosing your wedding day hairstyle:
The brides vision and vibe.
The climate and weather on the wedding day.
The overall look of her chosen hairstyle and how well is flows with her gown, facial structure and style.
Her hair texture and how well her hair will hold throughout her wedding day. (Yes we're there for touchups but the bride will get annoyed if she's having to go inside to re-curl etc. too often)
Ensuring she feels comfortable, beautiful and confident.

A Reception to Remember

The celebration continued into the evening with a reception that was as thoughtful as it was breathtaking. The couple chose a long banquet-style table so every guest could dine together, creating a sense of intimacy and connection against the backdrop of the Caribbean sea. Local flair was added by a traditional Junkanoo dancing through the reception.

As the night unfolded, fireworks lit up the sky in a dazzling display, marking the joy of the occasion. Guests danced beneath the stars, entertained by local Bahamian musicians and performers who brought the island’s vibrant flair and cultural traditions into the celebration. It was a true blend of luxury and authenticity—elegant yet full of life.
Outfit Change!
Drawing into the evening hours, our bride opted to change into a fun feathered party dress by Retrofete and custom sneakers by Jimmy Choo.
Dancing the night away with her favorite people, they embraced the Bahamian culture with fun and laughter.

THE REHEARSAL!
Martine & Cole love Harbor Island and have for years since vacationing with their families there often. They wanted to give their guests an experience they wouldn't soon forget and that's just what they did. From their private bungalows and cottages at The Dunmore Resort to their rehearsal dinner at the famous ROCK HOUSE, everything was planned perfectly and meticulously.

Martine wore a fringed dress and Prada bag which suited the venue and evening activities well.
She opted to wear her hair up in a ponytail with framing face pieces left out.
It was the perfect hairstyle for the evening and in bringing her look together.
The Island can be hot so it kept her cool in the evening and looking polished throughout her event.

Their rehearsal evening added to the fun, with guests joining them from around the world. Everyone flew in to celebrate the couples union. Music played as guests mingled under the stars and dined on fresh caught local flair and the Rockhouse's signature cocktails.
This restaurant is a gem on Harbor Island, attracting locals and tourists alike. They're known for their delicious cuisine, amazing atmosphere and exceptional wine list.

Lasting Memories
Remember, your wedding day is the one time you'll have all of your loved ones and friends in one place. And they're all there to celebrate YOU! Plan unique details that your guests will remember and cherish. At the end of the day it's about their experience, the laughter, hugs, love and warm wishes that can be felt for years to come.
